Christmas and New Year at the Hotel 2015

The festive season is in full swing and you can celebrate here at the Malvern Hills Hotel. We still have availability for a last minute Christmas meal up until Christmas Eve (£27.50 per person) and places are going fast for our New Years Eve dinner and festivities (£65.00 per person). Alternatively, we are open as usual for drinks and meals each day from 12 noon until 9pm (excluding Christmas Day and New Years Eve night , bookings only). Booking is advisable in the restaurants between Christmas and New Year, as we can get very busy.

Building Work at the Hotel- Business as Usual

As of 28th September, we have started to undergo some building work at the back of the hotel, which will eventually comprise of 9 new letting rooms. We are open for business as usual throughout the duration of the work, which is likely to take us through the winter and due for completion in the Spring. The back entrance of the hotel car park may be closed during this time midweek, disruption will be kept to a minimal and we can assure you that a warm welcome awaits as usual!

May Bank Holidays and Spring Garden Show

Spring is well and truly in full swing, and the Malvern Hills Hotel and Restaurants is the place to be.
We will be open all weekend during both the May Day Bank Holiday (2nd - 5th May) and the Spring Bank Holiday (23rd - 26th May), serving food from 12 noon til 9pm. Why not pop in for a drink or a light snack on the terrace, or a meal in the Vu restaurant or Dining Room?


Also, if you are visiting the Spring Garden Show at the Three Counties Showground (8th -11th May), come in and try us out. Advance booking for the restaurants for this week is essential, as we get very busy in the evenings!

Closing for Refurbishment 20th -23rd January

After a busy Christmas and New Year period, the hotel and restaurants will be closed from Monday 20th January until 6pm on Thursday 23rd January, for a spot of refurbishment in the kitchen and also the gents toilet. We will be open as usual for the rest of the month, we look forward to welcoming you during January.

Christmas Fayre Menu 2013

As the nights draw in, our attentions turn to the festive season. Our Christmas Menus are now available. Whether it is for that intimate Christmas meal or big office get-together, our Christmas Fayre menu is available from Friday 29th November to Tuesday 24th December 2013.

Christmas and New Year 2013/14

With all the lovely weather we've been having, it's hard to believe that Christmas isn't too far away.. so why not start planning early? As with previous years, we will be serving our Christmas Fayre menu all through December, and also our traditional Christmas Day menu on the big day itself. Menus and prices will be available towards the end of August.  

Alternatively, make a break of it and come and stay with us. Our Christmas break, runs from 24th to 27th December (3 nights) at a cost of £630 for a deluxe double or twin room, or £720 for a four poster or king-size bedded room. Prices include bed and breakfast, Christmas lunch and a buffet on Christmas night.

Royal Worcester Hotel Plate

This saucer was found in the area at the back of the hotel that is being refurbished at the moment. It was made by Royal Worcester Porcelain, but the date it was made is unknown. We can only assume it was one of a set, but this one survived. It shows the hotel, back when it was called the British Camp Hotel. The saucer was found, during the start of the building work to create 2 new letting rooms at the hotel, a double room and a new family room. They are due to be ready before the summer. Please feel free to come and ask us about them and to have a look at the saucer. If anyone has a part of this set, we'd love to hear about them too.  

Easter Weekend

Well it means that summer is just around the corner, but Easter is in March this year. Why not spend it with us? Come and stay in one of our deluxe rooms or treat yourself to a four poster or antique kingsize bedded room. You can book online on our website at mail@malvernhillshotel.co.uk. Alternatively, why not join us for a meal over the weekend. We will be serving food all day as usual in our two restaurants, and the bar will be open for drinks and light snacks. Im sure that the terrace will be busy all week if the weather is good, fingers crossed.

Malvern Walking Festival 2013

The Malvern Walking Festival has been launched for this year and will take place between Saturday 25th May and Sunday 2nd June. There are several walks during the week that either start at the hotel or pass by the hotel, as with previous years.

Valentines 2013

Refurbishment at the Malvern Hills Hotel 2013

 

On Thursday 3rd January, we began our latest set of refurbishments, creating two new rooms at the hotel. The flats at the back of the hotel and the old back office were knocked through and construction on a new family room, which will sleep 4 people, and a new double/twin room began. The work is expected to last until mid February, but we will be open for business as usual throughout. As you can see from the photos, it is not a small job! The rooms should look spectacular when they are finished though.

Christmas is coming!

Christmas and New Year is always a very popular time at the Malvern Hills Hotel, with the mix of regulars, diners and walkers thronging the restaurants and bar. Get in early to book for either our Christmas Fayre (which will be served from 23rd November up until Christmas Eve), Christmas Lunch (which is filling up fast!) or Boxing Day lunch. We will also be serving food all day in the week between Christmas and New Year, so why not come along and spend the Festive season with us. Elgar Vintage Ride 16th September 2012

On Sunday 16th September 2012, we were the set off point for the Elgar Tweed and Vintage Ride, where several old bikes were assembled, along with their riders dressed in tweed and vintage attire for an 8 mile ride. The ride took in Jubilee Drive and headed through Malvern and Barnards Green, before finishing off at Newland.  There were prizes for the best bike, best vintage outfit, best decorated bike, best rat bike and best dirty tweed. The riders and their bikes lit up the hotel and the car park before their descent into Malvern. Quite an insight into the transport and attire of Elgar's day.

New book all about the hotel

A good friend of the hotel Amanda Simons has kindly written a new book about the history of British camp including of course an extensive history of the hotel. We have copies at reception so pop by and have a look.

Lots of people have asked me when the brochures from, well it does not have a date in it. However it does state that a Mr W Parrish was the proprietor at the time which puts the brochure somewhere between 1937 and the start of the second world war, when the hotel was requisitioned for military use.

Beer Mats

I know its January, i know its cold but iv got something for you to come out of your houses for. We have had our own beer mats printed. There here to celebrate our new bar refit see the post below for more details.

This is the one side however the other side will feature one of four different designs, collect them all to get the big picture. I'm not sure how long well have them on the tables, so you better come and get your quick before they all get permanently borrowed.

Completed refurbishment

Well its been a hectic week here at The Malvern Hills Hotel. We have completely refitted our back bar and completed a new floor in the kitchens, they both look great. Iv uploaded a quick picture of our new back bar using Alex as a model.

As you can see its super shiny, we've got new light, a new bar and of course a new back fitting. There is still lots of work to do but ill try to get some more pictures on the hotel main gallery over the next week.

Malvern Hills Hotel Bar Refurbishment

We will be closed on Monday 17th, Tuesday 18th and Wednesday the 19th for a back bar refit and kitchen refurbishment.

Ill be posting pictures on the blog during the week showing how we get on.
